Anna decided to bring two stuffed kittens named Salt and Pepper to school. Victor then decided to bring this Angry Birds pencil topper. This picture was supposed to be just a quick snap of Anna and Victor walking to school but Anna didn't feel like being photographed (hid her face) but Victor wanted me to take this picture.
I picked up Anna directly from school so I could take her to the doctor. She's had a cough for a while, and it particular acts up at night. The daycare folks heard it enough that they expressed concern and I could see she wasn't quite her usual self, which is the thing to watch for. Hiding her face for the photo is an example of that. Anyway, she was happy enough when I walked her home, and talked most of the way about how her coat had a bell, because it made a little tinkle sound as she walked. She thought this was great. I think it was the zipper pull tinking against the zipper. She really lives in her senses. After her doctor appointment (Doctor had no concerns and just suggested options to mitigate the symptoms) I ran by a bank machine and let her play with a new and old bill. She immediately noticed by touch that the bills had Braille, and recognized what it was for. I believe I've talked to her about Braille before, but if not clearly she'd heard about it somewhere.
When we got home Anna wanted to make a bouquet again. This time she didn't try to get my ban on picking flowers out of beds overturned, but merely pointed to each set of flowers and said “can't pick those”. Of course, that meant that the only flowers that she could pick were dandelions, since those actually grow in the sidewalk. We now have two dandelion bouquets on our dining room table.
I went to visit friends in the evening. Anna decided she would ride her scooter. No picture of Victor on his bike because the only picture I would have been able to get is a picture of his back in the distance ahead.
Big couch with nobody else on it, so might as well spread out and take advantage of all that room.
Watching Star Wars as the adults play Cities and Knights. But it's not the real Star Wars, or Han would have shot first!
Of course we were late heading home, but Victor was perfectly fine with jumping back on his bike. Anna initially grabbed her scooter and valiantly started riding it but being woken up and going out in the dark and rain and cold was just too much, so we left the scooter behind and I carried her home.
